Undefined Creations is my personal development portfolio. I have been in web development and design since 2000 have been working in the agency world since 2004. I am currently working at Leo Burnett as a Creative Technologist and focus primarily on Flash development.

OVERVIEW
Website to promote Gilbert Arenas' line of custom-designed shoes and viral videos.

MY INVOLVEMENT
This was my first major project with EVB. I took the reins on the Flash development of this video-driven site.

Adidas / NBA
NBA All-Star Weekend

OVERVIEW
This feature for adidasbasketball.com was created for the 2008 NBA All-Star weekend. The site was built around a video that was produced for the event and contained all the featured products and athletes. The site experience turned this video into a non-linear product experience, as well as a means to watch the video itself.

MY INVOLVEMENT
I helped concept the interaction design and did the Flash development of this feature. One key feature is the non-linear video system that I prototyped and developed to explore the video as either linear video content or non-linear product content. This feature was also released in two languages and four countries.

OVERVIEW
The Adidas Brotherhood site is the central hub for all of Adidas' Basketball features and branded content.

MY INVOLVEMENT
I helped with the global efforts of adidasbasketball.com. This included maintenance, working with TeamSite, and the production of new features in multiple countries around the world.

OVERVIEW
Appleton Coated is one of the top papers of choice for many of the world's greatest designers. This Flash front-end helped introduce people to the world of Appleton Coated, and hooked into a CMS backend for client maintainability.

MY INVOLVEMENT
My role on this project was to program the front-end Flash module and integrate it with the CMS system that was also created for this project.

Carmichael Lynch

OVERVIEW
New year, new building, new identity, new website. The website for Carmichael Lynch was an extension of the new brand identity and a much more robust showcase for the agency's work and culture.

MY INVOLVEMENT
I was involved with this project from very early on with the initial requirements gathering, research, concepting and information architecture. As production began, I assumed the role of Flash Developer, and worked to get the site programmed and integrated with the backend content management tools that were being co-developed at the same time.

OVERVIEW
The website for Carmichael Lynch Thorburn was a digital extension of the printed material they gave to prospective clients. The site was designed to keep the focus on the work and have a quick, smooth, and understated feel.

MY INVOLVEMENT
During the design phase I worked on the interaction design and technical architecture on the site. I then did the Flash programming and created the site administration tools using ColdFusion and MS-SQL Server.

Children's Cancer Research Fund
Complete the Cure
b-swing / August 2008

OVERVIEW
Complete the Cure allowed users to watch videos from different people involved in the fight against childhood cancer, and interact with them by answering questions at the video went along. Each video watched and each site invitation sent helped raise money for cancer research.

MY INVOLVEMENT
I was brought in to develop the Flash module and help connect Flash to the back end tally and message services.

CNN
CNN Curiosity
The Barbarian Group / July 2008

OVERVIEW
CNN had recently re-launched its website with lots more video content. As part of that effort, they unveiled the tagline "I just saw it on CNN.com." This project was phase II of this effort.

MY INVOLVEMENT
I was tasked with updating the existing Flash module with some new shirt colors and richer imagery.

Oh gosh, it was on CNN. It has cropped up many places. Also named one of the top 5 campaigns of 2008 by Creativity Magazine.

OVERVIEW
This site was created for Director Andy Awes and his production company Committee Films. The site serves as a showcase for the company's latest work and news, and also as a method of contact. The site is powered by a site administration tool that allows the Committee Films to manage all of the news and film content that is displayed on the site.

MY INVOLVEMENT
Working with a designer, I created the technical architecture for the site and did all site programming. I also collaborated on the motion design and transitions.

OVERVIEW
This website is the online showcase for Graphiculture's graphic design portfolio. The site features news, awards, profiles, and past and present work. There is also a content management tool which allows graphiculture to manage all of the site's content.

MY INVOLVEMENT
I took the designs created by Graphicultre and brought them to life on the web. I developed all of the front-end code as well as the database, content management tools, and data layer.

Harley-Davidson

OVERVIEW
This Google gadget helped Harley-Davidson enthusiasts share video content from The Sturgis Motorcycle rally as well as other Harley-Davidson video content, all from their Google homepage.

I created the Flash interface to display the video content from the XML feed.

Jack Link's
Living Sasquatch

OVERVIEW
Carmichael Lynch partnered with Boffswana of Melbourne, Australia to produce this first-of-a-kind experience that brings Sasquatch to life on your desktop through the use of augmented reality. To make the experience more viral, we also developed a recording system so users could create and share their own films with Sasquatch.

MY INVOLVEMENT
I was the agency-side technical lead for this project. In addition to developing the Flash-based video recording system for the site, I worked with Boffswana in a support role to work through any server-side challenges that arose. I also worked on the hosting architecture, server configuration, and file storage process.

Kashi - Word of Mouth

OVERVIEW
Kashi is the maker of many organic food products. Additionally, they like to educate their customers about the various ingredients in their products. This site showcases some of their breakfast bars, provides information on ingredients, and helps customers spread the word.

MY INVOLVEMENT
I was contracted to do the Flash development on this project. I also worked with a back-end developer for the data integration.

Porsche
Best of All Worlds - Color Theory

OVERVIEW
On launch day, 9,000 premium prospects received a cool direct mail piece which featured a solid metal plate embossed with a silhouette of the new model. Recipients were invited to go online to visit a special sitelet containing inside information on Porsche's color palate for the new vehicle. The site features Porsche color symbolism, history, meaning and origin of the unique names. The goal is to select an individual color and create a personalized poster. Users can select up to five posters in their favorite colors. The posters will arrive along with a letter inviting insiders to visit their local dealer to check out the new model.

MY INVOLVEMENT
I was the development lead on this project. In addition to being the lead Flash programmer on the site itself, I managed a Flash contractor, studio production team, and backend development contractor to bring the experience to life. I also managed the logistics between the Flash development, Porsches development team in Germany, and the digital printing facility for poster orders.

Porsche - PDMS
Dealer Ad Planner
Carmichael Lynch / 2006-2007

OVERVIEW
Local Porsche dealerships needed a way to create rich media for local ad placements. Porsche needed a way to make sure all the ad creative was on-brand and up to date. This prototype was developed to bring the two worlds together. The agency (Carmichael Lynch) could upload approved creative into the ad planner, and then the local dealerships could assemble their media plans from the catalogue of existing creative and customize each placement. Upon agency approval, the creative assets and implementation instructions were automatically sent to the media reps at the placement sites.

MY INVOLVEMENT
I designed and developed the core of the prototype and worked with the internal Porsche team as well as the client to gather requirements and determine how best to meet everyone's needs. I also programmed the prototype itself and built the database. In later phases of development I managed a development vendor to implement some additional features, as well as designing the Flash framework that allowed the banners to display local dealer information.

Spirit of the Music Publications
Composition Showcase Website

OVERVIEW
Rick Kirby is a well-known music composer in the Midwest. A retired high school band director, he now runs his own musical composition and arranging business. This website showcases his compositions and recordings, and provides an easy method to order or request more information on a composition.

MY INVOLVEMENT
I designed and developed this project from the ground up. The front-end is a Flash site with SEO optimization for all the Flash content. The backend admin tools were written in ASP.NET and use an MS-SQL Server 2005 database.

St. Ives Elements
Get a Happy Face

OVERVIEW
The core of this site was a visually rich web site to showcase the St. Ives Elements line of skin care products. What made this site unique was its focus on all the other factors that contribute to healthy skin. Sleep, exercise, sunlight, and relaxation are just some of the other components of a healthy complexion. This site had several engagement points in which consumers could take part of the experience with them by downloading desktop widgets, signing up for an automated text message, and inviting a friend to meet them at a nearby park.

MY INVOLVEMENT
I was involved in this project as a technical lead. My main objective was to make sure all of the moving pieces of this project worked in perfect harmony. This involved coordinating with the client's tech team for tracking, working with third-party vendors for SMS, managing two types of tracking technologies, and building the downloadable desktop applications.

OVERVIEW
This microsite for Trex was designed for people gearing up to design and build a new deck. The brand message "Create Your Space" carried through the site and provided a gallery for design inspiration as well as helpful tips to get started building a new deck.

OVERVIEW
The Waukesha West High School band program is one of the most respected programs in the state of Wisconsin. This site serves as the online hub activity, and is the first phase of a new online presence.

This one was a big undertaking. I created the site from the ground up including information architecture, design, art direction, video editing, database development, and front-end development.
