Porsche: Best of All Worlds — Color Theory

Role:
Lead developer, technical architecture, motion design, Flash development

Project Overview
To launch the new 911 Turbo Cabriolet to Porsche insiders, the agency team developed a high-touch, personalized, multi-stage program. Tapping into the design psyche of this audience, the idea was built around the premise of "what color do I choose?" On launch day, 9,000 premium prospects received a cool direct mail piece which featured a solid metal plate embossed with a silhouette of the new model. Recipients were invited to go online to visit a special sitelet containing inside information on Porsche's color palate for the new vehicle. The site features Porsche color symbolism, history, meaning and origin of the unique names. The goal is to select an individual color and create a personalized poster. Users can select up to five posters in their favorite colors. The posters will arrive along with a letter inviting insiders to visit their local dealer to check out the new model. The program is designed to resonate with the audience through premium, on-demand, personalized contact at each stage of connection. It also includes a built-in, send-to-a-friend element to expand the reach to a broader, enthusiast base.

From a technical standpoint, this involved coordination with a local backend development partner, one flash freelancer, the printing facility's developer, and Porsche's development team in Germany. I coordinated the development flow through each of these teams, to create a seamless effort from the moment the user logs in until they receive their poster in the mail.
